Credit union in Pensacola, FL partners with Keep Pensacola Beautiful
The financial institution strives to further support their community in times of uncertainty.
PENSACOLA, FL (December 3, 2020) — On November 18, 2020, members of the Central Credit Union of Florida Staff and Advisory Committee had their first of many park clean up events after partnering with Keep Pensacola Beautiful this fall. Central Credit Union of Florida selected H.K. Matthews Park when signing up for the Adopt-A-Spot program and are committed to holding cleanup days there at least once per quarter for the next two years. The park, located at 3100 North 12th Street, encompasses 2.47 acres in the East Hill neighborhood of Pensacola and offers a basketball court, playground equipment, and benches.
Central Credit Union of Florida supports several non-profits throughout the year but found that participating in the Adopt-A-Spot program was a wonderful opportunity to give back in a different way. By keeping the park clean and litter-free, they are protecting not just the environment but also the children and adults who can now enjoy the common area safely. As Barbara MacNeil, Central Credit Union of Florida Community Liaison, stated,
“Making a positive impact in our community is a top priority at Central. Adopting this park gives us the opportunity to help our environment which we thought was a crucial thing to do especially right now since being outside when possible is really important to everyone’s mental health and well-being. The park itself is an ecosystem that we want to make sure is protected.”
