During Community College of Aurora’s recent graduation ceremony, Credit Union of Colorado CEO Phil Smith was recognized for his extraordinary leadership as board president of the Community College of Aurora Foundation over the last three years.
Under Smith's guidance, the Community College of Aurora Foundation has achieved remarkable milestones, raising nearly $4 million for scholarships and other priorities, $17.1 million for capital projects, and awarding more than $2 million in scholarships and emergency assistance to students.
“Phil’s unwavering dedication to the Community College of Aurora Foundation has had a profound impact on our students and our mission,” says John Wolfkill, executive director of the Community College of Aurora Foundation. “His leadership is essential in driving our initiatives forward and ensuring that we remove financial barriers and support more CCA students to stay on the path of earning college credentials and increasing economic mobility.”
Smith, who has served at Credit Union of Colorado for more than 14 years, became CEO in April 2024. He’s made a significant impact during his tenure and has a strong focus on doing what is right for credit union members, employees and the community.
