Credit union offers $5,000 scholarship
Cascade Community’s Irene Murphy Scholarship deadline is Friday, March 13th
ROSEBURG, OR (January 14, 2015) — Cascade Community Credit Union is now accepting applications for their 2015 Irene Murphy Scholarship. Awarded each year since 1987, the $5,000 scholarship is designed to assist “traditional high school students,” both graduating seniors and/or recent graduates (within past 5 yrs), in their pursuit of a secondary education.
“Cascade Community has enjoyed 67 years of growth and stability in Douglas County and our continued success has allowed us to expand the program, both in the amount awarded and the number of applicants we see,” said Gretchen Koester, CEO of Cascade Community Credit Union.
Named after the Credit Union’s first manager and originally for $500, the Irene Murphy Scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated outstanding community leadership. The scholarship is open to Cascade Community Credit Union members only. Individuals interested in applying should visit www.cascadecu.org. Applications will not be accepted beyond the Friday, March 13th, 2015 deadline. Applications can be delivered to any of the Credit Union’s branch locations and questions should be sent to info@cascadecu.org.
