GLENDALE, AZ (August 15, 2024) — Credit Union West, a purpose-driven, not-for-profit financial cooperative founded in Arizona, is proud to announce the latest enhancements to their CU West CARES Charitable Foundation.

Through charitable contributions and grants, the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation partners with local organizations and supports projects that enhance the quality of life for communities across the state. Based on a passion for serving others, the 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation is committed to building a brighter future
for Arizonans.

Since launching in 2023, the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation has been actively making a difference in Maricopa and Yavapai counties. According to its latest Impact Report, Credit Union West and the foundation collaborated to contribute over $121,000 to the communities they serve, marking a significant increase from previous years. Credit Union West is thrilled to unveil the foundation’s new mission statement that reflects its expanded reach, updated giving pillars, a revamped website for information and grant requests, and an online donation platform.

“At the CU West CARES Foundation, our mission is to enhance the quality and sustainability of our growing communities across Arizona,” said Ning Duong, foundation board member and Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer at Credit Union West. “Giving back is a passion lived throughout Credit Union West and we’re proud of the commitment we see from our employees; not only by donating funds but by donating their time through volunteer hours.”

The community impact of the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation focuses on four pillars which guide its charitable giving. These areas of focus include Community Heroes, Education of All Ages, Health and Human Wellness, and Distressed and Underserved Communities. The foundation also provides support for community programs at Credit Union West including free financial education workshops for members and local communities, employee donations, employee volunteer hours, and scholarships for Arizona high school seniors.

“The CU West CARES Charitable Foundation provides the opportunity to make a bigger impact by allowing our employees and members of the community to donate and support a variety of local organizations,” said Karen Roch, foundation board chair, President and CEO of Credit Union West.
