CrossState Credit Union Association debuts LIVE Video Feed to news outlets from Capitol Hill in partnership with the Cooperative Credit Union Association

HARRISBURG, PA (September 22, 2022) — Working together, CrossState Credit Union Association and the Cooperative Credit Union Association established a virtual LIVE video feed where credit union professionals and Hike the Hill presenters were able to conduct interviews and recordings with members of the media and to share with credit union leaders who were unable to participate in person.  Throughout the first day of Hike the Hill, CrossState President and CEO Patrick Conway was able to be interviewed by members of the press directly from Credit Union House with the beautiful capitol dome in the background.

In addition, credit union leaders and presenters talked about issues important to them as well as the activities of Hike the Hill for those who were unable to attend.  CrossState interviewed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Rohit Chopra, Congresswoman Madeleine Dean (D-PA), U.S. House Financial Services Committee Member, and Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ), U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman.

In addition, many credit union leaders related their experience at Hike the Hill to others in the credit union movement back home in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

“Tapping LIVE video streaming technology during a Hike the Hill event in Washington, DC, was a great opportunity for credit unions to get their message out to members of the press, credit union leaders from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and members of the general public,” said Michael Wishnow CrossState Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications.  “We want to thank the Cooperative Credit Union Association for their assistance in making a new concept become a reality.  Having the ability to connect directly with the news media on both a local and national level while also documenting the work of credit union leaders during Hike the Hill is an innovative and effective way to promote credit unions and their unique mission.”
