Credit union responds to member requests for service, critical to long-term self-service strategy

HENDERSON, NV (July 15, 2014) — Bluepoint Solutions today announced Lanham, MD-based FedChoice Federal Credit Union has adopted its mobile remote deposit capture (RDC) solution, QwikDeposit ToGo. The addition of mobile RDC will offer essential access to mobile banking technology for the credit union’s technically-oriented membership, supporting FedChoice’s long-term strategic growth strategy.

FedChoice Federal Credit Union, with $346 million in assets and almost 25,000 members, launched a long-term initiative to bring eServices to its membership base in 2011. “Mobile RDC was a logical addition for us because our members wanted it. That was the primary reason we wanted to include this functionality with our existing mobile banking app,” said David Bunch, President and CEO of FedChoice. “We were already experiencing decreased foot traffic in our branches, so we wanted to provide members with a ‘branch in their pocket’ that they would be able to access on-the-go.”

Mobile banking is the centerpiece of FedChoice’s delivery strategy to level the playing field with its bank counterparts, which focuses on purely electronic banking utilizing mobile phones, computers and tablets. This expanded digital footprint offers essential services, especially for Gen Y and younger consumers. “Our members have always been active with technology. They expected us to have mobile RDC, they were ready to use it, and we had downloads the first day it was in the app store,” said Ed Campbell, eServices Manager of FedChoice.

“Today’s consumers increasingly rely on the availability and feature set of mobile banking apps to choose a financial institution,” said Andrew Tilbury, Bluepoint’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Bluepoint is excited to partner with FedChoice to expand its self-service product offering with QwikDeposit ToGo.”
