CUES® announces CEO Institute scholarship recipient

MADISON, WI (March 5, 2014) —CUES is pleased to announce Jonelle Walker, senior vice president, Missoula Federal Credit Union, Missoula, Mont., has been selected to receive the Fred Johnson CEO Institute Scholarship for its 2014 CEO Institute program.

The scholarship is administered by the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF), and given in honor of CUES’ former president/CEO Fred Johnson, who retired in 2012.
Walker has been in the credit union industry for 21 years. Prior to her current position, she served as VP of marketing, marketing director, member service representative, and teller.

Walker attended CEO Institute I in 2013. According to her scholarship application, Walker will apply the organization development tools she acquires at CEO Institute II to help her credit union achieve their strategic objectives.

CEO Institute is a challenging academic and leadership program tailored specifically for credit union executives. It is held over three years at three of the nation’s most respected business schools: · CEO Institute I:Strategic Planning, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia · CEO Institute II:Organizational Effectiveness, Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.
· CEO Institute III:Strategic Leadership Development, Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va.

Since 1995, 863 credit union executives have completed all three segments of the CEO Institute program. Executives who complete all three years of the CEO Institute program and two post-segment projects are eligible to become Certified Chief Executives (CCE).
