CUES’ Murn-Kohal inspires first-ever WSAE Young Professional Award

MADISON, WI (December 4, 2014) — The Wisconsin Society of Association Executives (WSAE) named Dana Murn-Kohal, CUES’ professional development & innovation manager, as the recipient of the first-ever WSAE Young Professional Award.

The WSAE Awards Committee was inspired by Murn-Kohal’s enthusiasm and involvement in the organization to create the new award that honors young professionals making a difference in the association.

Murn-Kohal joined WSAE in 2012, and has been heavily involved in the organization since. She is a part of the member engagement committee working to keep WSAE members involved and active in the association. Murn-Kohal also frequently contributes blogs and articles, focusing on the latest in technology and innovation, highlighting ways associations can utilize technology to their advantage.

Murn-Kohal received a partial scholarship from WSAE to attend the Institute for Organizational Management, and made a presentation at the WSAE Innovation Summit about her experiences there.

”WSAE is a great state-level organization. Young professionals are looking for affordable education and networking, and WSAE delivers on both. I’ve had so much fun being involved with WSAE, it has afforded me personal and professional development. The award was a complete surprise, and I’m honored to be its first recipient. My hope is that more young professionals continue to get involved with WSAE,” said Murn-Kohal.

“WSAE couldn’t have had better inspiration for this new award. Dana exemplifies professionalism in her work with CUES, and we are pleased she’s so enthusiastic about volunteering with WSAE,” said Chuck Fagan, CUES’ president/CEO.

WSAE is committed to the profession of association management. It has more than 475 members representing business, charitable, civic and professional organizations throughout Wisconsin.
