CUES Names 2010 Future Leader Award Recipient Madison, Wis.-The Credit Union Executives Society is pleased to announce Michele Myrick, CCE, former executive vice president, E&A Credit Union, Port Huron, Mich., was honored as its 2010 CUES Future Leader.

Unfortunately, Myrick, a CUES member since 2002, unexpectedly passed away in March. Her husband, Scott Myrick, and father, Roger Quitter, former president/CEO of Christian Financial Credit Union, Roseville, Mich., accepted the award during a special presentation at the Metro East Chapter of Credit Unions 9th Annual Golf Outing yesterday in Chesterfield, Mich. She will also be honored in November at CUES* CEO/Executive Team Network*, in Dallas.

Myrick*s contributions to her credit union, the movement and the community were significant. She was instrumental in the research, planning, design and completion of E&A*s new headquarters; and her strategic audit and monitoring project helped the credit union set a direction for the future. Myrick was a member of the Metro East Chapter of Credit Unions; the Michigan Credit Union League*s (MCUL) Political & Government Affairs Forum, Legislative Forum, Government Affairs Committee and Future Leaders Council. She also received the MCUL*s 2010 Credit Union Community Volunteer Award.

Myrick was dedicated to her education. She completed several high-level professional development courses, including CUES* CEO Institute program, earning her CCE (certified chief executive) designation in 2007. An active member of her community, Myrick was part of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Blue Water Chamber of Commerce, the Port Huron Rotary, the YMCA Building Committee and more.

*CUES commends Michele for the passion, commitment and dedication to excellence she brought to her credit union, the movement and her community.

Her accomplishments are a testament to how she lived her life, always striving for the best. She will not be forgotten,* said CUES president/CEO, Fred Johnson.

The CUES Future Leader award recognizes non-CEO credit union executives for superior dedication to their credit union, the movement and continuing education. Nominees are evaluated on their accomplishments within the credit union and the movement as a whole; contributions made to CUES and its Councils; ongoing professional development and education; a letter of recommendation from their CEO; and community contributions. Additionally, the judges review the details of a single problem-solving plan which was developed, led and put into action by the nominee.
