CUES® Next Top Credit Union Exec Regional Finalists Announced

MADISON, Wis.— The applicants campaigned, the credit union community voted, the ballots have been tabulated, and the six Regional Finalists for the CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec challenge are:

WEST:  Jay Hansen, Boeing Employees Credit Union (BECU), Seattle, Wash.

MIDWEST: Amanda Thomas, Members First Credit Union, Columbus, Ohio

NORTHEAST:  Alexia Mavrakes, Aspire Federal Credit Union, Clark, N.J.

SOUTHWEST: Christopher Byrd, Associated Credit Union of Texas, League City, Texas

SOUTHEAST: Josh McAfee, Leaders Credit Union, Jackson, Tenn.

CANADA: Devin Selte, Servus Credit Union, Edmonton, Alberta

“The competition was tremendous again this year. The 13 entrants encouraged their family and friends, co-workers and colleagues to vote, and they did. We received almost 5,000 ballots,” said Fred Johnson, CUES’ president/CEO. “The voting was tight and we congratulate all of the applicants for their hard work to promote their projects, and of course for the great work they are doing at their credit unions. Now, we congratulate the finalists, and look forward to reading about their projects’ progress between now and the final presentations in November.”

The six Regional Finalists each receive registration, accommodation and airfare to CUES’ CEO/Executive Team Network™ in Las Vegas, November 6–9, 2011. While in Las Vegas, the six Regional Finalists will face off for the grand prize, a CUES educational package valued at $20,000, and the honor of being named the Next Top Credit Union Exec.
