CUNA celebrates Credit Union Miracle Day Family of Races

CUNA sponsors Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-Mile Run for 14th consecutive year

WASHINGTON, DC (April 10, 2015) – For the 14th consecutive year CUNA is sponsoring the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-Mile Run held on Sunday, April 12, the first of four events that represents the Credit Union Miracle Day Family of Races.

More than 100 credit unions from all across the country unite for good around the Credit Union Miracle Day Family of Races through the title sponsorship to raise awareness about credit unions on Capitol Hill and support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“For the past 14 years, CUNA has been proud to sponsor the Credit Union Miracle Day Family of Races,” said Rich Meade, Chief Operating Officer at CUNA. “I’m excited to be out there on race day with several CUNA and credit union volunteers to help the Family of Races kick-off at the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-Mile Run this weekend. As not-for-profit financial institutions that exist to help people, not make a profit, this partnership is another great example of the credit union motto of People Helping People.”

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-Mile Run is one of four events that represents the Credit Union Miracle Day Family of Races, all of which raise funds for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The SacTown Ten-Mile Run in Sacramento, CA, the Freedom Run at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait and the Freedom Run at Wiesbaden Army Garrison in Germany all follow the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-Mile Run this month.

Over $7 million has been raised for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals over the past 14 years through the Family of Races. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is an alliance of premier children’s hospitals which treat 10 million critically ill children annually, regardless of their ability to pay.
