CUNA designates 15 new Credit Union Business Lending Professionals

WASHINGTON, DC (August 5, 2015) — CUNA has announced that this year’s CUNA Business Lending Certification Institute—held July 20-24, 2015 in Madison, Wis.—awarded 15 Credit Union Business Lending Professional (CUBLP) designations. The designation is earned by completing all three years of the institute, which provides comprehensive education on credit union member business lending.

“Earning the CUBLP designation is not easy; it represents a major commitment and a considerable investment of time and energy,” says Kathy Smith, instructional design manager, CUNA. “We congratulate these designees for their hard work and hope they will use their newfound knowledge to improve business lending at their credit unions and spur growth in their communities.”

This year’s CUBLP designees are:

· Becky McKenzie – Wepco FCU
· Sean McQuaide – PeoplesChoice CU
· Edward Nunez – Freedom CU
· Kristie Snyder – Wepco FCU
· Jason Strader – Ashland CU
· Bradley Tichenor – Partners FCU
· Curry Ben Workman – 121 Financial CU

Held in partnership with the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Business, CUNA Business Lending Certification Institute provides participants with the requisite training to build a business lending program and guides them through important lending procedures. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including portfolio management, underwriting, cash flow and loan repayment.
