Washington, D.C . (September 13, 2012) – The Credit Union National Association’s 2013 Governmental Affairs Conference will be held February 24 -28 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.   CUNA’s GAC is the credit union movement’s premier political event and its largest conference, drawing more than 4,000 credit union executives and board members to advance the movement’s policy agenda in the nation’s capital. Registration is open at gac.cuna.org.

“GAC is all about making an impact: advancing our legislative agenda and removing regulatory barriers so that credit unions can be our members’ best financial partners,” said Bill Cheney, President and CEO of CUNA. “Powerful Cause.  Positive Effect reflects our commitment to the 95 million working Americans who rely on credit unions every day.  At the GAC, America’s credit union leaders will have in-person meetings with their members of Congress and effect positive change for the credit union movement.  It is critical that we bring the power of our grassroots cause to the Hill and ensure a stronger future for credit unions.”

Recognized as the key conference to attend for political impact, credit union networking and industry updates, the GAC also offers a wide array of informative breakout sessions on hot topics, the industry’s largest exhibitor showcase, guest/family programs to tour Washington’s sights, and special entertainment including an opening concert and the closing Gala Reception and Dance.

Keynote and other speakers and session topics will be announced in the weeks to come.  For more information and to register, please go to gac.cuna.org or follow @CUNAverse hashtag #CUNAGAC.
