CUNA’s Nussle issues statement on Harper NCUA confirmation

WASHINGTON, DC (June 9, 2022) — The Senate confirmed Todd Harper chairman of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Wednesday. Jim Nussle, President/CEO of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) issued the following statement following the vote:

“Congratulations to Chairman Harper on his re-confirmation to the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) board. We look forward to continuing to engage him and the other NCUA board members to ensure that the agency stays focused on its safety and soundness mission.”

Harper was first appointed to the board in April 2019 under President Donald Trump and was named chairman in January 2021 by President Joe Biden.

Harper addressed 4,500 attendees at the 2022 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), outlining several regulatory initiatives.
