DATAMATX achieves rigorous SSAE 16 Type II Certification for third consecutive year
ATLANTA, GA (February 3, 2014) — DATAMATX, a national outsourcing provider and leader in the distribution of critical business communications and payment services, today announced that it has achieved the SSAE 16 Type II (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16) certification for a third continuous year. To achieve the certification, DATAMATX was reviewed by audit, risk and control-oriented professionals under guidance from theAmerican Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). This independent validation by an AICPA certified entity demonstrates that DATAMATX continues to be fully committed to providing clients the highest level of assurance that their data is secure and managed appropriately.
“As a leading outsourcing provider for customer communications and payment solutions, it is imperative that we secure and protect our customers’ data as part of our overall commitment to delivering exceptional customer service,” said Scott Stephens, COO of DATAMATX. “By successfully completing the rigorous SSAE 16 audit for the third year in a row, our customers can be assured that DATAMATX’s operational and data processing standards are safe and reliable, enabling them to focus on their core business.”
The SSAE 16 is designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an acceptable method for a user entity’s management to obtain assurance about a service organization’s internal controls without conducting additional assessments. In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SSAE 16 reports even more important to the process of reporting on effective internal controls by public companies. A Type II report not only includes the service organization’s system description, but also includes detailed testing of the design and operating effectiveness of the service organization’s controls.
