Day Air Credit Union CEO Appointed to the Ohio Credit Union Council

KETTERING, OH (May 12, 2014) — Day Air Credit Union’s President & CEO, William Burke, has been appointed to the Ohio Credit Union Council by Governor Kasich. Mr. Burke has been the President and CEO of Day Air Credit Union in Dayton, Ohio for over 15 years.

The Ohio Credit Union Council is a statutorily mandated, public forum in which all aspects of credit union supervision, regulation, examination and budgets are reported on and discussed for mutual understanding. The Council’s role is to hold “regulator meetings” quarterly, and “consult with, advise, and make recommendations to the…superintendent for credit unions on matters…including field of membership, regulation, examination, safety and soundness and applications of credit…” The Council’s work gives both credit unions and the regulator confidence in the supervisory processes.

Mr. Burke has worked in the credit industry for 33 years. Prior to his tenure with Day Air, he served in a variety of progressive capacities in the industry, including President/CEO of Agriculture Federal Credit Union in Washington D.C, President/CEO if Arsenal Credit Union in St. Louis, MO and Chief Financial Officer of First Community Credit Union in St. Louis, MO. He began his career as an auditor with Suplee, Clooney and Company in Elizabeth, NJ.

“I am deeply honored to be appointed by Governor Kasich to this Council” says William Burke. “As I have done throughout my tenure at Day Air, I will continue to advocate for policies that benefit credit unions, large and small, throughout Ohio.”
