DCUC applauds Senate passage of FY2026 National Defense Authorization Act

WASHINGTON, DC (October 10, 2025) |

The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) commends the U.S. Senate  for passing S.2296, the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), by a  bipartisan vote of 77–20. Senators Cortez Masto, Cruz, and Tillis did not vote.

DCUC applauds the inclusion of the NCUA’s Central Liquidity Facility (CLF) Enhancement Act  in the Senate-passed version, recognizing its importance in strengthening credit union support  for servicemembers, veterans, and their families.

“We thank the Senate for its leadership and strong bipartisan support in moving the FY26 NDAA  forward,” said Anthony Hernandez, DCUC President/CEO. “Including the CLF Enhancement Act  is a meaningful step toward ensuring credit unions can better serve those who serve our  nation.”

DCUC Chief Advocacy Officer Jason Stverak added, “We commend lawmakers for their  commitment to advancing policies that help military families achieve financial readiness and  stability. We also want to thank Senator Padilla and Senator Cramer for their leadership on  including the CLF Enhancement Act as an amendment to the NDAA.”

DCUC will continue to monitor the NDAA process closely as the House and Senate work toward  a final version of the bill.
