Del-One FCU’s Annual Meeting

Del-One Federal Credit Union’s Annual Meeting was held on Tuesday, May 20th at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.  Over 400 members & Del-One teammates attended the event.  A delicious meal prepared by the staff at the Modern Maturity Center was enjoyed by all, and many door prizes were awarded. Board Directors elected included Kevin Mitten, Robert Baldwin and Chairman D. Steven Smith. Del-One appreciates and values the guidance and expertise provided by all the amazing volunteers that continuously give of their time and talent to serve on the Board of Directors.

Both Board Chair Steve Smith and President & CEO Dan McCarthy spoke of Del-One’s performance and accomplishments in 2024. Among many other exciting endeavors in 2024, Del-One opened a new branch in Lewes, opened a new Mortgage Loan Production office in Wilmington, issued $177 million in new loans to members, and became a founding sponsor for the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  Del-One FCU continues to perform well financially, and had over 4,000 new members join in 2024, equating to an almost 5% membership growth. This is more than double the industry standard.  President & CEO McCarthy stated, “Del-One’s growth and success in 2024 is a true testament to the products and services we offer, how we treat our members and the dedication of the amazing teammates that represent us every day”.

Board Chair Emeritus Nancy Shevock presented Vice President of Compliance Dr. Shallon Poulson with the 6th Annual R. Bryce Breezy Brown Service Award.  This award, named for former Del-One Board member R. Bryce Breezy Brown whose loyalty and dedication truly made a difference, is presented annually to someone who exhibits those same characteristics.  The recipient of this award chooses a charitable organization, and $2,500 is donated to the chosen charity. This year, Ms. Poulson chose the Kind to Kids Foundation, which aids children in foster care, to receive the donation.

Also during the annual meeting, teammates of Del-One were recognized for years of service and accomplishments. The Teammate of the Year award was presented to Smyrna Branch Manager Warren Oney, the West Dover Branch received the Branch of the Year award, and the Department of the Year honor was awarded to the Facilities Department.

President and CEO Dan McCarthy spoke to the attendees about a potential merger between Del-One FCU and Louviers Federal Credit Union. The potential partnership is currently in the application phase.  Louviers FCU is a highly respected credit union based out of New Castle County.  It was chartered in 1968, has approximately 16,000 members and over $220 million in assets. The Board of Directors and management team at Del-One are excited about this opportunity and will keep members informed during the process.

A record number of over 400 guests attended the Annual Meeting for Del-One Federal Credit Union.
