Democracy FCU educates HD Woodson High School

WASHINGTON, DC (June 8, 2015) — On May 19, 2015 Democracy Federal Credit Union’s employee Jordan Ferbish, Member Service Specialist, received acknowledgement for the company’s contribution and representation at HD Woodson High School’s Second Annual Career/Transition Fair.

Democracy FCU’s participation alongside local businesses and colleges showcased valuable educational information to the HD Woodson 2015 Senior Class. Students were able to speak to college recruiters, apply for jobs, and sign up to become a credit union member.

Democracy Federal Credit Union’s partnership with HD Woodson High School has been ongoing for over 10 years. Democracy FCU offers specific services to the students to help educate and prepare them to successfully conquer financial matters. The Credit Union’s Warrior Branch is staffed by students, and offers an internship program, and financial workshops offered to all students, staff and parents. The Post- Secondary Career/ Transition Fair serves as a great opportunity to educate and encourage the youth community at a very crucial time in their lives.
