Democracy FCU supports America Saves Week
WASHINGTON, DC (June 17, 2015) — On May 20, 2015 Democracy Federal Credit Union was recognized at the 2015 America Saves, National Savings Forum for their participation in America Saves Week that ran from February 23rd– 28th. Democracy FCU Business Development Director, Lisa Streeter, accepted the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence award on behalf of the credit union for promoting savings and wealth building accounts during America Saves Week 2015.
Democracy FCU was one out of nine credit unions selected nationally and recognized for going above and beyond to encourage and educate members about life expenses, budgeting and saving techniques. Democracy FCU educational material was delivered throughout the week through multiple channels including one-on-one financial counseling sessions, informative educational workshops, emails and social media.
“Educating members on ways to save, reduce debt and build wealth is what we do every day. Supporting and rallying behind the America Saves Week was a perfect fit for us,” said Lisa Streeter, Business Development Director.
The America Saves Week campaign is managed by the nonprofit Consumer Federation of America. The campaign brings non-profit, government, corporate groups, faith-based organizations and financial institutions together for a worthy cause which supports low-to moderate-income households to become savers, reduce debt and build wealth.
Democracy Federal Credit Union serves members from branches in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
