Dover Federal Credit Union Delivers Nearly 3,000 Cookies to Dover Air Force Base Personnel

Dover, Delaware – January 14, 2013  – Dover Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that it has once again participated in an annual holiday event providing home-baked cookies to the troops at Dover Air Force Base. The project, known as “Operation Cookie Drop,” is to bake and deliver cookies of all varieties to the airmen who are living in the dormitories and cannot be home for the holidays, by providing a “Touch of Home” during the holiday season. This is the fifth year that Dover Federal Credit Union has been involved in the project, which is designed to bring some holiday cheer to the hard-working service members of Dover.

Dover Federal employees and associates, and their family members, baked an impressive 239 dozen (a total of 2,868) cookies for the troops. Dover Federal employees then delivered the cookies – along with holiday wishes and a heartfelt thank you – to the Dover Air Force Base the week before Christmas.

When asked about the Credit Union’s participation, David Clendaniel, Dover Federal’s President and CEO, responded enthusiastically, “We at Dover Federal are so proud to be a part of Operation Cookie Drop,” he said. “Our troops give of themselves every day in order to protect our nation and our way of life, and we consider it an honor to have the opportunity to express our gratitude to them at this special time of year.”

First chartered in 1958, Dover Federal Credit Union is the largest credit union in the state of Delaware, with a membership of 38,121. Dover Federal has offices in Smyrna, New Castle, Milford, and Dover, including one at Dover Air Force Base. Dover Federal has proudly served the military and Delaware families for over 50 years.
