Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union ends year with record 60 percent member giveback rebates, rewards

MIDLAND, MI (December 20, 2013) —  Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union recently announced a total of more than $11 million in Member Giveback Rebates and Rewards for 2013. The percentages of year-end rebates and rewards on loans and share/deposit accounts to be given back to the members are the highest in the credit union’s history.

On January 1, 2014, DCECU members will receive these givebacks via:

  • The year-end Loan Interest Rebate, which will rebate borrowers in good standing 60 percent of the total interest they paid on all eligible DCECU loans during 2013.
  • The Member Saver Reward, which will give depositors in good standing an additional 60 percent of the dividends/interest they earned on DCECU shares/deposits in 2013.
  • DCECU VISA® Check Card rebates of 0.125 percent of all signature-based transactions during 2013 and $0.01 for each PIN-based transaction during 2013.

In 2012, DCECU’s Member Giveback Rebates and Rewards – which included a 50 percent Loan Interest Rebate, a 50 percent Member Saver Reward, and VISA® Check Card rebates of 0.125 percent of signature-based transactions and $0.01 per PIN-based transaction – totaled $11.2 million.
