East Meadow’s NuHealth draws in Bethpage Federal Credit Union

BETHPAGE, NY (January 24, 2014) — Bethpage Federal Credit Union, New York State’s largest credit union and Long Island’s leading community financial institution, yesterday celebrated the grand opening of its newest branch on Long Island located within Nassau University Medical Center, a part of the NuHealth health care organization, located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, NY 11554.  This Bethpage branch is the credit union’s 27th branch location on Long Island and first hospital location, and will primarily serve NuHealth employees, but is available to patients, visitors and community members as well.

“Bethpage has been working with the employees of NuHealth for many years through the Civil Services Employees Association (CSEA) union.  Opening a branch in one of their medical centers is a great, natural progression to service employees right where they work,” said Kirk Kordeleski, President and CEO, Bethpage Federal Credit Union.  “We look forward to working closely with new and existing members in the community, and hope to make banking as convenient as possible for this busy building of professionals.”

The new Nassau University Medical Center branch is located near the Carman Ave entrance in the main corridor of the first floor. This bilingual branch employs six full-time employees in a 625 square foot location, and is Bethpage’s 15th location in Nassau County.  Awilda Chacon is the new Nassau University Medical Center branch manager.  This is Bethpage’s 16th bilingual branch.  Previously known as Nassau Health Care Corporation, NuHealth also manages the operations of A. Holly Patterson Extended Care and a network of Family Health Centers on Long Island.

Most recently, Bethpage opened a branch in the Valley Stream King Kullen, the credit union’s fourth branch to be housed inside a King Kullen Supermarket.  Three additional Nassau branches are slated for Long Beach, Baldwin and Albertson.

Bethpage is one of Long Island’s most convenient financial institutions.  Its growing network of 27 local branches, 60 shared service centers, more than 425 surcharge-free ATMs, and free online and mobile banking services provides members with easy access to their accounts wherever and whenever they need it.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, existing solely to serve its members and has experienced rapid growth in recent years to become a strong alternative to banks.  Bethpage was approved for the largest federal community charter in the U.S. in 2003 and now is New York State’s largest credit union and Long Island’s primary community financial institution with 228,000 members, 27 branches and 60 shared service center locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. As a financial cooperative, Bethpage offers the best-in-market rates, low fees and world-class service, and a full menu of personal and commercial financial services.

Bethpage maintains branch locations in Bay Shore, Bay Shore King Kullen, Bethpage, Central Islip, Commack King Kullen, East Meadow, Elmont, Farmingdale, Freeport, Glen Cove, Hempstead, Huntington, Levittown King Kullen, Lynbrook, Massapequa, Melville, Mineola, North Babylon, Patchogue, Port Jefferson, Riverhead, Seaford, Smithtown, Roosevelt, Valley Stream, West Babylon and Westbury with over 425 surcharge-free ATMs including King Kullen, CVS Pharmacy, 7-11 and Costco locations throughout Long Island.  For more information, call 1-800-628-7070 or visit https://www.bethpagefcu.com.
