Educational Systems Federal Credit Union awards scholarships to Academy of Finance graduates

GREENBELT, MD (June 30, 2015) — Educational Systems Federal Credit Union awarded fifteen, $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who completed the Academy of Finance curriculum. For over fifteen years, Educational Systems FCU has partnered with the Academy of Finance in Calvert, Montgomery, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties to provide business and financial education to students.

The Credit Union awarded scholarships to the following graduating Academy of Finance high school seniors:

Calvert County:

  • Erica Sandidge, Calvert High School
  • Jeanine Arndt, Patuxent High School
  • Alexandra Harrington, Huntingtown High School
  • Mary Cook, Northern High School

Montgomery County:

  • Nadia Williams, Gaithersburg High School
  • Blair Stout, Magruder High School
  • Ryan Gonzales, Einstein High School
  • Samuel Nguyen, Watkins Mill High School
  • Austin Wickham, Northwest High School
  • Darren Zhang, Paint Branch High School

Prince George’s County:

  • Gabrielle Headly, Oxon Hill High School
  • Raelyn Arie Mcllwain, Flowers High School
  • Jamon Fields, Largo High School
  • Emmanuel William Barrow, Roosevelt High School

St. Mary’s County:

  • Riniya Countiss, Chopticon High School

The Academy of Finance connects high school students to the world of financial services. The curriculum includes personal finances, financial planning, global finance, securities, insurance, accounting and economics. Educational Systems FCU has supported the Academy of Finance in many ways over the years by conducting mock interviews, participating in Career Days, volunteering on advisory boards and providing internships and scholarships.
