EFCU awards “give back” of $50,000 to members

ELKO, NV (January 20, 2021)Elko Federal Credit Union (EFCU) works hard to provide value for and return profits to its members, sometimes in creative ways. To celebrate its 60 years of service to the community as a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, EFCU launched “We’re Kickin’ It Back to You,” a year-end $50,000 give-back for members. To qualify for the give-back, EFCU members simply needed to have qualifying EFCU loans closed by December 31, 2020.

The give-back is a refund of loan interest paid. On January 4, 2021, at the end of the qualification period, EFCU drew 25 winning names at random. Each winner received a $2,000 interest refund applied to their existing loan balances.

Winning members couldn’t have been more pleased. “It’s nice to know that our credit union still cares about its members,” EFCU member Cherie T. said of the experience, both with her win and her credit union membership.

“Every year we find ways to give back to our members, including through loan interest refunds,” said John Kelly, CEO. “As we celebrated our 60 years of service in the community throughout 2020, we wanted to take our give-back to a new level. It was a great way to end the year and usher in 2021.”
