Elevations Foundation awards $72,000 in post-secondary education scholarships to 29 local high school graduates

BOULDER, CO (May 10, 2023) — Elevations Foundation is pleased to announce it awarded $72,000 in scholarships toward post-secondary education programs to 29 outstanding Colorado high school graduates on May 9, at a “Celebration of Community” event in Broomfield, Colo.

Elevations Foundation proudly supports scholarship initiatives for local graduating high school seniors in their pursuit of higher education. All Elevations Foundation scholarship recipients have a proven track record in academics and community engagement, but most importantly, they have a financial need.

Of the 24 students who will begin attending a four-year college/university 13 are first- generation college students. “I am incredibly grateful to have been selected as a recipient of the Elevations Foundation Scholarship. I am excited to be supported by an organization committed to making a difference, providing community resources, and helping students like me reach their educational goals,” said 2023 scholarship recipient Osvaldo García Barron. “Thanks to the Elevations Foundation’s financial support, I can pursue my higher education as a first-generation low-income student without any significant financial burden. Overall, I am genuinely honored to be counting on the support of an amazing community.”

Elevations Foundation Adds Two Trade School Scholarships

“We added two new trade school scholarships this year, the Elevations Foundation Trade Scholarship and The Bennet Family Trade School Scholarship funded by a private donor,” said Elevations Foundation Executive Director Jennifer Hinderliter. “Our Foundation recognized the need for students to have alternatives to the four-year college or university track and wanted to assist those students seeking valuable experience and training in the trades. This year we’re proud to award four scholarships to trade school students, from culinary school to automotive repair.”

First awarded this year and founded in 2022 by Ian Bennet and Jill McCarthy, the Bennet Family Trade School Scholarship was established through Elevations Foundation’s “Establish a Scholarship Program.” Available to anyone who meets eligibility requirements, the Establish a Scholarship Program invites donors to create an endowed or named scholarship that will provide immediate or long-term tuition support for local students in need.

The celebration for this year’s scholarship recipients took place at Elevations Credit Union on May 9, in Broomfield, Colo. To learn more about Elevations Foundation, please visit www.elevationscu.com/foundation.
