Employees’ children spend the day at headquarters
FAIRFAX, VA (May 6, 2019) — Twenty-one children participated in Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, April 25, at Apple yielding our the largest number of children thus far.
The children visited the People and Culture Department first to receive their official Apple name badge. The next order of business was to attend an important meeting in the Board Room along with their parent for a warm welcome from CEO, Andy Grimm. He shared his insights on working at Apple, importance of having their parent employed here, and the hard work and dedication they show Apple every day.
The children were in store for a fun-filled, educational day (with a few surprises). The children set out on a scavenger hunt throughout the building, visiting departments and learning valuable information on what happens behind the scenes at Apple. Their busy morning earned them some relaxing yoga in the gym taught by Kris Haig of Talent Development.
After a delicious pizza lunch with their parent and VPs, they posed for silly pictures in the photo booth, and heard from our Chief People Officer, Beth Yingling on pursuing their dreams and career opportunities.
To round out the day, the children visited the Fairfax Corner branch and had the opportunity to use the Video Teller machine to deposit $5 into their accounts. Then they were asked to create their own Apple logo and participated in a project management exercise. The day ended with a game of Jeopardy to test what the children learned throughout the day.
Andy Grimm, Apple FCU President & CEO welcomes the children and their parent.
