Essential Federal Credit Union (Essential) today announced it earned national honors for one of its video production projects at the 40th Annual Telly Awards. With over 10,000 entries from around the world, the Telly Awards honors excellence in video and television across all screens and is judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks and production companies, such as Vice, Vimeo, Hearst Digital Media, BuzzFeed and A&E Networks.
Essential and its advertising agency partner, Mandeville-based Innovative Advertising, received a coveted Silver Telly for the video production, titled ”Taking the Leap”, submitted in the Non-Broadcast General-Corporate Image category.
The video summarizes Essential’s mission and its impact in the greater Baton Rouge area through outreach and volunteer efforts, such as regularly donating to and partnering with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, as well as working to provide financial education to local citizens. The video captures the spirit of Essential, while also reinforcing the company’s commitment to serving its members and the community as a whole.
Rick Williams, chief executive officer at Essential, said that the Telly Award honor exemplifies the strength of the credit union’s employees, as well as the brand itself.
“It is exciting to be named among the best video productions in the country, and we look forward to continuing to work with our partners at Innovative to tell our story in impactful ways,” Williams said. “At Essential, we are dedicated to serving our valued members with excellence, while also making a positive impact on the communities we serve, and this video demonstrates just that.”
Jay Connaughton, owner and managing partner of Innovative, thanked Essential for its partnership and applauded the collaborative work done on the nationally-recognized video production.
“We are proud to have clients like Essential who put their trust in and work alongside us as we develop award-winning advertising,” Connaughton said. “Our goal is to always produce work that stands out and motivates people, and Essential’s video is evidence that we’re succeeding.”
Throughout 2018-2019, The Telly Awards celebrated four decades of honoring the video and television industry, whether through its inaugural international screening series or its online video interviews with industry experts. This year also saw the continued expansion of new categories to further the awards’ recent initiative to rebuild the honors for the multi-screen era. New categories included serialized Branded Content and expanded Social Video categories. Last year, The Telly Awards attracted more than 12,000 entries from top video content producers including Condé Nast, Netflix, Refinery29, RadicalMedia, T Brand Studio and Ogilvy & Mather.
