Financial Plus Credit Union awards 14 $1,000 scholarships to exceptional students

Financial Plus Credit Union is proud to award their tenth annual “Reach for Success”  Scholarship to Harmanjot Chauhan, Harrison Dammann, Wren Davis, Elijah Dollarhide, Eva Jackson,  LaChelle Lee, Uma Ludwig, Julian Morris, Elijah Rowland, and Kaven Unangst. Each recipient will receive  a $1,000 scholarship to use during their 2025-2026 academic school year. This scholarship can be  applied towards tuition, fees, books, and room and board. 

Financial Plus also offered four exclusive $1,000 scholarship opportunities, each awarded to a  graduating senior from Saginaw United High School, Kearsley High School, LakeVille High School, and  Bendle High School. The recipients of the "Financial Plus Credit Union" Scholarship—Michael Baldwin  (Saginaw United High School), Audrina Grathoff (Kearsley High School), Mallorie Nevadomski (LakeVille  High School), and Nicki Sue Nichols (Bendle High School)—were celebrated and announced during their  respective senior honors nights. 

Financial Plus Credit Union received over 100 scholarship applications from students attending high  school, college, and trade school. “Education opens doors, not just for the students themselves, but for  the communities they’ll go on to strengthen,” said Derek Lewis, Financial Wellness Specialist at Financial  Plus. “Each of these recipients brings something unique to the table. We’re proud to support their  journey and excited to see the impact they’ll make in their communities.” 

This year’s scholarship recipients represent a diverse and inspiring group of future leaders, each  pursuing their unique path with purpose and passion. Kaven, a committed athlete and honor society  member, will begin his college journey at Delta College with plans to transfer to Saginaw Valley State  University. Elijah Dollarhide is headed to Ferris State University to study Construction Management,  driven by a strong work ethic. Also pursuing higher education in STEM, Elijah Rowland, known for his  initiative and positivity, is continuing his journey at Kettering University, and Uma, a motivated and well rounded student, will bring her academic excellence to Michigan Technological University. 

In the healthcare field, LaChelle is pursuing her Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia at the University of  Michigan–Flint. Wren, a standout student leader and captain of a state-qualifying robotics team, will  also attend UM–Flint to study healthcare. Harmanjot, passionate about dentistry, is heading to Delta  College after thriving in hands-on clinical experiences and leadership roles in her healthcare program.

Creative and service-minded students are also well represented. Julian, the founder of S.W.A.G.  Magazine, brings a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship to Michigan State University. Harrison, a  dedicated scholar, musician, and volunteer, will attend the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor this fall.  Eva, a joyful leader in both Marching Band and Girl Scouts, is preparing for her next chapter at Ball State  University. 

Scholarship judges at Financial Plus reviewed all eligible entries and awarded the recipient based on  attaining all requirements.
