Financial Plus Credit Union to donate $65,000 to the United Way

Financial Plus Credit Union is proud to announce a record-breaking donation of $65,000 to  the United Way. The donation stems from an employee contribution campaign and will benefit the  United Way of Genesee, Shiawassee, Saginaw, and Bay Counties. This marks the second consecutive  year Financial Plus has been the top-contributing financial institution for a local United Way employee  campaign. 

The campaign received its highest participation to date, with 201 employees contributing across the  organization. Overall, more than $30,000 will be donated to the United Way solely through employee  contributions. Financial Plus has pledged to match all contributions, bringing the total donation to  $65,000.  

“Our annual United Way campaign is always a meaningful time for us. Seeing our team come together  each year to support nonprofits in the communities we serve reflects the heart of who we are, and I’m  proud of the support they continue to show,” said DeAnna Wallace, Chief Human Resources Officer and  SVP of Member Experience at Financial Plus Credit Union. 

“Once again, the team at Financial Plus Credit Union continues to amaze us with their generosity and  community spirit. This effort will assist hundreds of local families with a Hand UP at a time when basic  needs like food and shelter continue to rise in cost. We are grateful the team at Financial Plus Credit  Union has answered the call to share with families in need,” said Jamie Gaskin, CEO of the United Way  of Genesee County. 

The United Way advocates producing better results within the community. They work with partners to  surround children, individuals and families with the resources they need to succeed at all stages of their  lives.
