Financial Services Career Exploration Program wraps up!

YORK, PA (April 16, 2015) — On Tuesday, April 14, 2015, First Capital Federal Credit Union wrapped up its second annual York County Alliance for Learning (YCAL) Career Exploration program.  The program focused on the various jobs available in the financial services industry.  Every other Tuesday from January – April, students from Red Lion, Central York, and West York High Schools joined us for dinner and informative and interactive sessions. They learned the differences between credit unions and banks, the importance of credit scores, how the loan process works, as well as what educational background is needed for the different jobs within the financial industry.  The April 14th session concluded with the students sharing what they’ve learned and enjoyed most.  Each student then received a certificate for completing the program and some First Capital goodies to take home.

First Capital Federal Credit Union is a $164 million asset-size credit union with nearly 18,000 members based in York, PA.  Founded in 1954 as S. Morgan Smith Credit Union, First Capital has merged and grown, and continues to work closely with more than 400 companies and organizations throughout York County and across the country.

YCAL’s Career Exploration Programs are after school programs that provide York County high school sophomores, juniors and seniors hands-on experience, preparation and guidance for their future careers. Each program meets after school on a consistent basis and focuses on a career pathway.
