Firefly Credit Union® raises money for the American Cancer Society

BURNSVILLE, MN (June 26, 2020) — Firefly Credit Union dedicated the month of May to raising money for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Minneapolis, an organization that gives cancer patients and their caregivers a homelike place to stay during cancer treatment. The program is able to provide lodging for patients and their caregivers at no cost because of support from volunteers and donations.

During the month of May, Firefly employees raised money through weekly digital bingo games and a chicken dance contest.

Through generous employee participation, Firefly raised a total of $1,895 for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Minneapolis. The donations made by Firefly employees will assist the Hope Lodge of Minneapolis in providing a free, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and caregivers to stay at while they are receiving cancer treatment.

“May was an exciting month here at Firefly. Even during the pandemic, our employees continued to show their generosity and willingness to give to the community,” said Firefly Credit Union President/CEO Dale Turner. “We are pleased to donate to an organization that does so much for cancer patients and their caregivers.”
