Firelands FCU highlights $216,645 in community contributions for 2024

Firelands Federal Credit Union (Firelands FCU), rooted in community support since  1957, announces another successful year of impactful contributions. 

In 2024, Firelands FCU donated $216,645 to 147 local organizations, focusing on financial wellness,  education, and resource accessibility. Employees played a significant role, contributing $20,275 and  demonstrating their dedication to the communities where they live and work. These contributions  

directly supported the following organizations: 

  • The Norwalk Area United Fund 
  • The Bellevue United Selective Fund 
  • The United Way of Erie County 
  • The United Way of North Central Ohio 

In addition to extending financial support, Firelands FCU upheld a strong commitment to volunteerism.  In 2024, credit union employees self-reported 933 volunteer hours as part of Firelands FCU’s 

volunteer program. Simultaneously, Firelands FCU continued its Financial Literacy program, Finances 101, by organizing four events that reached eight schools and impacted approximately 650 students.
