First Financial Credit Union Offers New Loan Feature in Mobile App

Chicago, IL – First Financial Credit Union recently enhanced it’s mobile application.  Members can now apply for a loan through the app, and they are able to veiw and sign their documents using only their mobile device.

To kick-off this new offering, FFCU created a one-day Black Monday Loan Sale, in conjunction with members’ day-after-Thanksgiving shopping.  Members who applied through the app received a loan for $500 at 6.99% for 9 months, with no credit check.  The offering was available on Monday only, and over 60 members applied for the promotional loan through the app.

FFCU partnered with CU Mobile Apps to offer the mobile application, and DocuSign for electronic document viewing and signing.  “We partnered with CU Mobile Apps earlier this year, and in February rolled out our mobile application.  We’ve had a tremendous response from our members about the app, especially initally when we had over 1,000 downloads in the first 30 days.  We wanted to take the next step and implement the Loan Request feature, which now gives our members a mobile, paperless loan process”, commented FFCU’s COO, Luis A. Reyes, Jr.

Since the inception of the app in February, multiple enhancements to the app have been made, including the ATM Locator that uses the device’s GPS and map program to show members where the closest surcharge-free ATM is located.  FFCU will continue to enhance member offerings by implementing remote deposit capture through the app in the next 60 days.

First Financial Credit Union has been serving members since 1936 and now operates two offices that are open to the public and five offices located within partnered employer’s sites. The credit union started as AT&T Teletype Employees Federal Credit Union, serving the employees of AT&T Teletype Corporation. In 2000, the credit union changed its name to First Financial Credit Union to reflect the transition to a community charter. For more information call (773)565-2000 or visit www.firstfcu.org.
