First Financial supports the 2019 Maryland Multicultural Conference

First Financial Federal Credit Union attended the annual spring Maryland Multicultural Conference as a vendor to support education, awareness, and advocacy of multicultural interests and issues in our state and nation. Hosted by the Maryland Multicultural State Chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Educationand the Carroll County Public School System, the April 6 conference was held at Winters Mill High School in Westminster, Maryland.

Promoting the theme and ideal of “Working Together to Build a Legacy of Equity and Excellence,” the conference’s diverse presentations and activities catered to educators and students with entertainment, vendors, interactive workshops, and engaging speakers sharing insight on the event’s theme. Attendees also enjoyed breakfast and lunch at the event, which ran from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

As a credit union with its roots in education, First Financial was excited to be a part of the event. “Because we have such a long-running heritage of service to our area’s education systems, sponsoring and attending this event was a natural fit for us,” said Andrea Rapp, First Financial Relationship Manager. “We are proud to support initiatives promoting equality through education. It was wonderful to see the spirit of community between the attendees and vendors as we all learned more about what each of us can do to create better futures for all.”
