First New York Federal Credit Union partners with Capital Region Blue Star Mothers of America to use their Leap Day to help deployed military

ALBANY, NY (February 24, 2020) — Leap Day only comes every four years. With an extra day this year First New York is excited to be a part of the #LeapOfKindnessDay and is using this extra day to do something kind for someone else.

We are partnering with the Capital Region Blue Star Mothers of America to send “Freedom Boxes” to deployed military. For the month of February members of the credit union, employees and the community are donating everything from snacks, beef jerky, toiletries and socks to our service men and women. All donations can be dropped off at any First New York Federal Credit Union Branches and a list of items needed can be found on our Facebook page.

On February 29 th at 10am in the First New York Federal Credit Union headquarters located at 2 Wall Street in Albany, NY both the Blue Star Mothers and First New York employees will gather to pack all the collected donations.
