First Northern Credit Union raises $3,100 for Empower Boone

First Northern Credit Union is proud to share that members and visitors to its Rockford branch, located at 104 N Show Place Drive, raised $3,100 this summer to support Empower Boone, a nonprofit organization that provides vital resources for families in need.

On Wednesday, August 20th, staff from the Rockford branch presented a check to Brenda Valadez, Executive Director of Empower Boone, for $3,100.00. Brenda provided a tour of the facilities and educational information about the services Empower Boone provides to its community.

Donations were collected with the efforts of our entire staff at our Show Place Drive location. Thanks to the generosity of the community, Empower Boone will be able to stretch every dollar raised to purchase about $8 worth of food for every $1.00 donated.

“Thank you, to everyone who participated in this summer’s fundraising effort,” said Jonathon Lewis, Branch Financial Sales and Service Manager. “We look forward to continuing to serve and support the Rockford and Boone County area.”

Empower Boone

Empower Boone’s mission is to raise up those in their community who are facing hard times, by providing a path to self-sustainability. Their goal is to give hope and help through food, clothing, and on-site community resource partners.
