Fiserv wins CUNA Councils Speed Round Best of Show with voice banking technology

MADISON, WI (October 16, 2017) — The Best of Show winner of the CUNA Technology Council Conference and CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council Conference Speed Round has been announced.

Speed Rounds are fast paced, high-impact sessions delivering a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to show off their products to a large credit union audience. Expert panelist ratings and audience feedback led to the decision for the 2017 Best of Show.

Our 2017 recipient for the Speed Round Best of Show was Fiserv for its Voice Banking with Amazon Alexa presentation. Kobi Magnezi, Director of Product Strategy, and Cheryl Harris, Senior Sales Executive, demonstrated how credit unions can enable voice banking for their members by integrating devices such as the Amazon Echo and its “Alexa” digital assistant with their digital banking platforms. Credit union members who have a supported device such as Amazon Echo in their home or office can access their accounts and perform a range of actions such as checking a balance, making a payment, or managing their debit or credit card, based simply on spoken commands. For example, a member might say “Alexa, what’s my checking account balance?” Alexa would access the account, find the information requested, and provide an answer, “You have $56.78 in your checking account.”

“Credit unions are often at the forefront in delivering innovative capabilities that make life easier for members, and that is just what we are experiencing with voice banking,” said Magnezi. “We are working with multiple credit unions on voice banking pilots, and are seeing that the industry is very receptive to this new way of interacting with members.”

Fiserv is a global leader in financial services technology solutions. The company helps more than 12,000 clients worldwide create and deliver experiences for a digital world that’s always on, enabling consumers to move and manage money with ease, speed and convenience.

The Technology Council Conference and the Operations & Member Experience Conference were co-located October 1-4, 2017 in Phoenix, AZ.
