FMFCU Foundation announces Community Grant recipients

CHADDS FORD, PA (August 17, 2022) — For the third consecutive year, FMFCU Foundation awarded seven different nonprofit organizations Community Grants. A total of $6,500 in funds will be distributed to fund programs or projects from across the Philadelphia Region that deliver measurable, sustainable improvements in the communities served by the Foundation. With programs ranging from outdoor classrooms for elementary school students to inmate job training, more than 2,500 people will be impacted.

2022 Grantees are:

Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (West Chester, PA) will receive a $1,000 grant to deliver 400 books through the Greater Coatesville Imagination Library.

 Bethel Springs Elementary School (Garnet Valley, PA) will receive a $1,000 grant to create a handicap accessible outdoor classroom.

 The Deaf-Hearing Communication Centre (Swarthmore, PA) will receive a $750 grant to create and print a communication card that will assist both police and members of the Deaf and hard of hearing communities in any interaction.

 Fostering Hope- Delaware County (Norwood, PA) will receive a $1,000 grant to paint and install flooring, storage & organizational solutions for the Foster Share Closet.

 Kisses for Kyle Foundation (Willow Grove, PA) will receive a $1,000 grant for the Food is Love Program.

 Thresholds in Delaware County, Inc. (Thornton, PA) will receive a $900 grant towards inmate mentoring and training programs.

 YWCA Delaware (Wilmington, DE) will receive an $850 grant to tend to the New Beginnings Garden.

“We are honored to help these organizations that are doing tremendous work in our communities. Their work is inspiring and just a sampling of the many organizations making a positive impact in our region,” said Rick Durante, Executive Director of FMFCU Foundation.
