FMFCU Foundation awards five scholarships
CHADDS FORD, PA (April 17, 2023) — Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation recently selected five John D. Unangst Memorial Scholarship recipients through a competitive essay competition. The annual scholarship awards $3,000 toward college/university tuition for each of the recipients.
These outstanding high school students were chosen from hundreds of applicants: Bianca Brown– Springfield High School, Erin Chapmond– Oxford Area High School, Maeve Gilroy– Haverford High School, Laniyah Emile– Franklin Learning Center, and Ryan McLaughlin– Malvern Preparatory School.
The annual scholarship was established in honor of Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union’s first and longtime President/CEO John D. Unangst, who was passionate about education.
The scholars will be among those honored at the 2023 FMFCU Foundation Celebration, hosted by 6ABC Action News Reporter Katherine Scott, on Thursday, April 27. at The Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill, PA. The event will also honor the 20 Excellence in Teaching recipients, 2023 Community Champion- Teachers’ Teammates, Cyrise Dixon- Delco Hi-Q Hall of Honor inductee, and all 21 Delco Hi-Q Teams including the Delco Hi-Q and National Hi-Q Championship team from Garnet Valley High School.
