Food for the frontline expresses gratitude

FORT WASHINGTON, PA (May 19, 2020) — In a world of social distancing, wearing masks, and stay at home orders, first responders and essential employees have become everyday heroes. Police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, doctors, and nurses are working around the clock to keep the community safe.

TruMark Financial® Credit Union started a first responders’ initiative to recognize the commitment and dedication of these essential employees. For the last several weeks the credit union has sent trays of bagels and breakfast treats, pizzas, and sandwich trays from local restaurants to hospitals, police departments, and ambulance companies in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties to express its gratitude. The first responders’ initiative is two-fold. While recognizing essential employees, the credit union also is supporting small businesses that are struggling during the pandemic.

“Our heroes on the front lines are always seeking ways to help others. In a time when uncertainty prevails, we hope to bring comfort and optimism by giving back and letting our communities know that they are not alone,” said TruMark Financial’s chief executive officer Richard F. Stipa.

“Having a good lunch always makes the day better,” said an appreciative Bensalem Rescue Squad team member.
