Fife Lake, MI (August 13, 2025) |
Forest Area Federal Credit Union (FAFCU), a trusted financial partner in Northern Michigan since 1983, is proud to announce a new partnership with My First Nest Egg, a national leader in youth financial education. This initiative marks a major step forward in FAFCU’s ongoing commitment to equipping children with real-world money skills and
empowering families across its membership to build lifelong financial habits—together.
Designed for kids ages 3–13, My First Nest Egg offers a digital-first approach to financial education that is both fun and foundational. With features like chore tracking, allowance management, savings challenges, and real-world goal setting, the platform makes learning about money feel approachable and meaningful for families. The partnership also extends into the classroom, giving teachers free access to curriculum-aligned financial literacy lessons and printable resources.
“At FAFCU, we believe in empowering the next generation with the tools and knowledge they need to achieve financial success,” said Jason Grant of Forest Area Federal Credit Union. “Through our youth programs, charitable contributions, and educational partnerships, we are proud to invest in the future of our communities with the support of partners like My First Nest Egg. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of young individuals and foster a culture of financial responsibility.”
With over 1,300 youth accounts already in place and seven branch locations throughout Fife Lake, Manton, Kalkaska, Lake City, Kingsley, Mesick, and Cadillac, FAFCU has long been a champion of youth-focused services. This new offering provides a next-level experience for families looking to do more than just open an account—it gives them the tools to engage, educate, and guide their children through the foundational years of financial development.
While many credit unions are exploring debit card integrations and app-based spending tools for youth, FAFCU is starting with what matters most: education. Content is the cornerstone of any successful youth program, and this partnership ensures families don’t just have access to a product—they have an ongoing experience. With My First Nest Egg, kids learn more than how to swipe a card; they learn how to plan, save, give, and make thoughtful money choices.
Parents can begin using the platform today by entering the invite code FAFCU at www.myfirstnestegg.com. Teachers can access the educator portal with the code FAFCUedu, opening the door to classroom-ready financial literacy resources designed with behavioral psychology and age-appropriate learning in mind.
This collaboration reinforces Forest Area Federal Credit Union’s belief that financial wellness starts early—and that every child deserves a strong financial foundation.
