Former Reps. Davis and Frost keynoters at NAFCU’s 2015 Congressional Caucus

Washington, DC (April 14, 2015) — Former Reps. Tom Davis, R-Va., and Martin Frost, D-Texas, will provide thought-provoking ideas to help solve the current legislative stalemate during their keynote presentations at the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU2015 Congressional Caucus. Caucus takes place Sept. 14-17 at its new location, the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.

“Davis’ and Frost’s insightful perspective on the existing political climate will help credit union members gain a better understanding of Congress’ effects on the industry and offer possible solutions that could aid in Congress functioning more effectively,” said Dan Berger, NAFCU’s president and CEO.

Davis served seven terms as a representative and authored more than 100 bills that became law. He chaired the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2000 and 2002. He was also the first freshman congressman in 50 years to be given a subcommittee chairmanship, taking the gavel of the Government Reform Subcommittee of the District of Columbia. Davis is a co-author with Frost of the book, “The PARTISAN DIVIDE: Congress in Crisis,” aimed at improving the gridlock in Washington.

Frost has 26 years of legislative experience and held numerous leadership positions in the Democratic party. During the 1996 and 1998 elections, he chaired the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 1999, he earned the distinguished role of chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. Frost is also a co-author of the privacy provisions in the 1999 Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
