FORUM Credit Union opens 2015 Youth Entrepreneur Contest

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (July 2, 2015) — FORUM Credit Union is excited to announce the opening of the 2015 Bright Start Youth Entrepreneur contest.  The contest, designed to promote early entrepreneurial skills for teens, is currently open through July 24, 2015.

FORUM understands the importance of the entrepreneurial spirit and the skills it can teach a child. Responsibility, financial independence, improving communication skills and inspiring self-esteem are a few characteristics a child can learn from starting a business. Bright Start is a youth entrepreneurial program that offers resources and ideas for youth interested in starting and running their own business. Resources include how to create a business concept as well as materials educating youth on marketing, administration, and financial tools.  The Bright Start Contest allows teens to create and promote either a current business or a business idea, with all entrants entered to win a grand prize of $100.

Youth ages 13-19 can submit either a two minute video explaining their current business or submit a business plan of a current business idea. Information on the business, how it will impact the local community, and plans to carry out the idea are all included in the competition. A written response to the question “How would winning the grand prize of $100 help you live your financial dreams?” must be included with either form of contest submission.
