Gail Enda was named the President & CEO of American Airlines Federal Credit Union

FORT WORTH, TX (January 11, 2019) — Gail Enda became the new president and CEO of American Airlines Credit Union after Angie Owens, the organization’s leader for more than 10 years, accepted a position with American Airlines as Vice President  – Finance, transitioning to the Vice President and Controller position upon the incumbent’s retirement in February. Gail has been acting president for the past few months, but takes on the role of president and CEO effective immediately.

“I have enjoyed and appreciated the wonderful opportunities that American Airlines Credit Union has given me over the past 10 plus years. Knowing I have a strong and caring leadership team in place to carry this organization to new heights has made this very difficult decision somewhat easier,” said former President and CEO Angie Owens. “Gail’s breadth of knowledge, strong educational background and significant industry participation make her an excellent selection for this role.”

Enda has worked for American Airlines Federal Credit Union for 17 years.  When she first started at the Credit Union, she served as Vice President Marketing and also led the Member Services, Deposit Programs and Investment Services areas. She previously worked for American Airlines in a number of different roles in the Finance and HR organizations.

She most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Lending and Product Management, in which she oversaw the Credit Union’s Payments Products, Digital Services, Mortgage and Business Lending Operations, Consumer Loan and Account Services Programs and Collections functions.

“I could not be more proud to lead this organization that is so passionate about our purpose and focused on our members and each other,” Enda said. “I also want to thank Angie Owens for her steadfast leadership over the last 10 plus years.”

Enda serves on the NAFCU Regulatory Affairs Committee and is an active member of the CUNA Lending Council and Members Development Corporation.  She has been on the Board of Directors for ePayResources™, formerly SWACHA, since 2015.

She has her undergraduate degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. She lives in Dallas with her husband and has three daughters.
