Genisys Credit Union donates over 500 books to North Oakland Family YMCA
AUBURN HILLS, MI (June 18, 2014) — Genisys Credit Union, which provides services to anyone who lives or works in the Lower Peninsula, has partnered with local Buffalo Wild Wings to provide over 500 books to the North Oakland Family YMCA for their Operation Back to School Bash on August 16.
“Genisys is grateful for our partnership with the YMCA and we are very happy to provide them with impactful community donations from our members and staff,” said Jackie Buchanan, Genisys President and CEO.
Genisys members and employees were welcome to bring new or gently used children’s books to their local branch for donation to the North Oakland Family YMCA (NOYMCA). In return for their donation, Buffalo Wild Wings provided contributors with a special offer. The NOYMCA continuously works to help community youth set and achieve their personal and educational goals. Through enrichment programs, such as the Operation Back to School Bash, the Y ensures every child has an opportunity to pursue a positive future and take an active role in his or her community.
“We have enjoyed many years of working with Genisys and their mission is closely aligned with the YMCA in developing and giving back to our communities to make them stronger,” said Chris King, NOYMCA Executive Director. “The books will go to some very deserving and eager children in our community.”
