Genisys Has A Spooktacular Time In Shelby

Auburn Hills, MI, October 24, 2012 – Genisys Credit Union sponsored the Shelby Township Parks & Recreation Department’s Halloween Spooktacular on October 13, 2012, at River Bends Park. Genisys co-branded metallic bags with Henry Ford Hospital to hand out to kids for trick-or-treating.

The event was held in celebration of Halloween and featured a Trunk-or-Treat where families decorated their vehicles for Halloween and children could go “trunk to trunk” for candy and other goodies. There was also a prize for the best decorated vehicle.

“It was fun to see all of the families dressed up to celebrate the season,” said Jackie Buchanan, CEO. “It’s a great way to provide a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience for kids in the community.”

Other festivities included Halloween themed games run by Eisenhower High School’s Key Club, a craft area, Halloween music provided by a DJ, free donuts and juice.

Over 200 people turned out on this rainy Saturday to have a spooktacular time.

“The rain may have dampened the spirits of some, but not the volunteers who made sure that those who participated in the River Bends Park Halloween Spooktacular had a great time,” said Pam Reinhardt, Shelby Township Parks & Recreation Office/Program Administrator.

The Shelby Township Parks & Recreation Department has hosted this event in one form or another for over 20 years. Genisys has sponsored it for the past four years and continues to give back by sponsoring numerous events in the Shelby community throughout the year.
