Genisys Sponsors Community Harvest Festival

Auburn Hills, MI, November 9, 2012 – Genisys Credit Union recently sponsored the 15th Annual Whitpain Township Community Harvest Festival on October 13, 2012, at Wentz Run Park in Blue Bell, PA.

“Genisys is thrilled that the festival was such a huge success with so many members of the community coming out and enjoying all that it has to offer,” said Jackie Buchanan, President/CEO.

The Harvest Festival is about bringing the community together to enjoy a day at the park. Festival attendees enjoyed games, hayrides, inflatable rides, vendors, live entertainment and a petting zoo.

Nearly 6,000 people attended the festival, and 90 businesses in the area participated as vendors, food vendors, contributors and event sponsors. Because there were so many attendees, people were shuttled from an off-site parking lot to Wentz Run Park.

Thanks to the event sponsors, many areas of the festival were free or low-cost to participants, and as a tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a 50-foot pink balloon arch highlighted Genisys as the main sponsor of the event.

This year, event volunteers dressed up in full costume as two new attendees—Elmo and Winnie the Pooh. Kids were able to meet the characters and have their pictures taken with them.

Entertainment included local singer-songwriter Kirsten Sowers, a dance routine performed by Bowman Dance Company and a music demonstration by Groove.
