Giving back this holiday season

Five local non-profits receive dental kits, Disney DVD bags, and Elf bags

ST. LOUIS, MO (December 16, 2020)

Together Credit Union is giving back to the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area this holiday season by donating gifts and personal hygiene supplies to local organizations serving children and families-in-need.

“The holiday season is often a struggle for many in our community, and donations to local charities are down as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe it will take time, support and resources to overcome these challenges and are stepping up our efforts to aid those individuals and families in need,” said Bob McKay, President & CEO.

This holiday season, Together Credit Union’s Community Taskforce donated 60 dental kits and Disney DVD bags to the YWCA Metro St. Louis Head Start and Early Head Start program in Kirkwood, and 100 youth and 200 adult dental kits and 100 Disney DVDs to LifeWise STL in St. Louis City.

Together Credit Union’s Employee Resource Group, Advancing Women Leaders, also donated 100 Elf Bags to four women’s shelters: Our Lady’s Inn in St. Louis and St. Charles, All Among Us, and Community Women Against Hardship. Each Elf Bag contained soap, lotion, a hairbrush, loofa, hand sanitizer, nail file, lip balm, nail clippers, and hair scrunchies.

“Our employees have taken our core values to heart, finding a greater and more meaningful way to serve our members and communities. I am forever grateful for their generosity and spirit,” added McKay.

For the past several years, Together Credit Union has also served as a sponsor of KTRS’s annual Toys for Tots toy drive.  New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm on Friday, December 18th, at the KTRS studio located at 638 West Port Plaza. Donations can also be made online
