Global CU announces Wear Red Campaign

SPOKANE, WA (June 25, 2015) — Beginning on July 3rd, Global Credit Union launches our 2015 Wear Red campaign.  As a way to support the men and women in the Armed Forces, Global is collaborating with KXLY, a local ABC-affiliated television station in Spokane, Washington. The goal is to bring awareness to as well as to celebrate our Service members.

Global CEO and President Jack Fallis says, “Our Wear Red campaign is just one way we can thank our troops and veterans for their service. We ask that our members and the public join us and Wear Red with us on Fridays.”

Global’s staff, pictured above, will be wearing red every Friday through September 11, to recognize American troops fighting for our freedoms.

Throughout this campaign, Global is handing out red wristbands and accepting donations to raise money for the following organizations:

In Spokane, Washington, Global will be donating all funds raised to Operation Spokane Heroes. This organization provides support to families of troops who are deployed. For more information please visit: Operation Spokane Heroes.

In North Idaho, Global will be donating all funds raised to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 9. This organization provides support to men and women who have become wounded, injured or ill as a result of their service. They also help transition soldiers back to civilian life. In Tri-Cities, Washington, Global will be donating all funds raised to Columbia Basin Veteran’s Coalition. This organization provides services to aid veterans in transitioning back to the civilian environment. For more information visit: Columbia Basin Veteran’s Coalition.

At Camp Ederle, Global will be donating all funds raised to Army Emergency Relief. This organization provides financial relief to soldiers and their dependents on extended active duty, members of the Reserve Components of the Army, soldiers retired from active duty because of longevity or a disability and widows, widowers and orphans of soldiers. At Aviano Air Base, Global will be donating all funds raised to Friends of Family Support. This organization provides specialized services and support to Airmen and their families with financial assistance, PCS moves, volunteering, employment assistance, Air Force Aid, pre-deployments or reintegration. This is Global’s fourth consecutive year honoring servicemen and servicewomen through Wear Red Fridays.
